Causes of Cervical Spondylosis

Cervical Spondylosis has become a common condition in people across age group. Some common causes of Cervical Spondylosis are:

  • Dehydrated Disks

Disks are the cushion between the vertebrae bones of your spine. They start shrinking and degrading after a certain age (above 40).

This leads to a higher chance of bone-on bone contact which can cause pain.

Physiotherapy focuses on stretching and strengthening the muscles around the neck and shoulder.

With online physiotherapy, you can have a hassle-free treatment experience. (No Travelling/ Parking/ Waiting Time)

  • Herniated Disks

Herniated Disks are caused when one of the vertebrae disks bulges out of its position and presses the nerve.

This causes the pain to radiate from the neck to the fingers.

Patients require rest for a few weeks followed by physiotherapy for increasing the range of motion and strength.

Complete rest is generally recommended and with online physiotherapy, you can get treated from the comfort of your home.

  • Repetitive Strain Injury

The first signs of Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI) may be soreness, tingling, or discomfort in the neck, arms, wrists, fingers, or shoulders after a repetitive task due to inflammation and trauma.

In recent years, a lot of people have been suffering from RSI due to their digital lifestyle.

Physiotherapy helps in reducing the symptoms of pain and stiffness. Educating the patient regarding postures has worked wonders.

Due to recurrence, online physiotherapy is the most convenient and effective way of treatment.

  • Stiff Ligaments

Ligaments are the connective tissue between two bones. Spinal ligaments can stiffen with age, and in some medical conditions such as ankylosing spondylitis which causes the neck to be less flexible.

Physiotherapy focuses on increasing flexibility and isometric strengthening of muscles around the neck and shoulder.

Generally, this condition is treated across several weeks and hence, online physiotherapy makes it really convenient to consistently adhere to the treatment from the comfort of home.
